Kujira Knife　鯨ナイフ

Kujira (whale) knifes were originally created in 1995 for primary school students to use them as pencil sharpeners. The designs are originally by Yamashita Satoshi, a blacksmith from Kochi (Shikoku) and these knives won several design awards.
Since the point of the knives is not sharp, it is a very safe tool to use. It can be used as a pen sharpener or even as a paper cutter, by both kids and adults.
